Mask Network to Launch the Third Web3 Social Grant Round with $50k Pool
We are excited to announce that the 3rd Mask Network’s Web3 Social Grant round is now live and is one of the featured rounds on Gitcoin Grants Beta Round. The matching pool is $50k.
In collaboration with Gitcoin, Mask Network has created the Web3 Social Grant round to support projects related to Web3 Social using Quadratic Funding.
The quadratic funding mechanism (QF) proposes turning small donations into much larger sums using a simple formula. This is achieved by crowdfunding individual donations towards open source projects, where the number of contributors is more important than the amount of contribution. Governments, grant programs, or private philanthropists offer a matching fund, which is then distributed democratically using Quadratic Funding (QF), allowing everyday community members to designate where the funding goes by funding themselves.
We have successfully launched 2 web3 social Grant rounds in the past. Each time $50k was rewarded to dozens of projects. There are 155 grantees who successfully joined the Web3 Social Grant Round and earned rewards.
Some projects are working out well and still in incredible momentum toward success. Projects like bfrenz, soul wallet, and word block also won the Mask Grants program. Among these, metamail, soul wallet, and DAOU won the 2022 ETH Shanghai hackathon organized by Mask Network.
