Gitcoin Web3 Social Ecosystem Grant Round Review
Gitcoin, the open-source software and community donation platform, has launched its 14th round of donations. The round runs from June 8–23 and allows users to fund great open-source software teams. Only less than 48 hours left before the end of the round, it’s time to do a final push.
Mask Network is really excited to host the first-ever Web3 Social Ecosystem Grant Round with $50,000 in matching funds. Mask Network is also absolutely delighted to see 60 submissions in the round after several rounds of reviews. About half of the projects come from our recommendations, the rest is organic traffic, which shows the booming scene of the web3 social space.
Gitcoin uses a quadratic voting model to crowdfund projects to allocate funds, solving the inefficiency problem of financing public goods in the Ethereum ecosystem and encouraging minority voting. In each round of Gitcoin donations, in addition to the donations received by each project, Gitcoin also uses this as a reference to coordinate the allocation of funds from the Ether Foundation in order to increase the chances of quality projects receiving investment.
Gitcoin has funded thousands of open source projects with $62.6 million in its first 13 grant rounds. It has also introduced various ecosystems and cause rounds to further the public good growth. Not only does it help builders and creators in the Web3 ecosystem, but also uses secondary funding mechanisms to support things like climate, Ukraine, and crypto advocacy.
Below is our review of the Web3 Social ecosystem round (50 projects) that has been broken down into 7 categories:

Reasons to Recommend:
A very interesting and easy-to-use no-code tool to make your ENS domain become audio. Multimedia domain names are a relatively new concept, as decentralized domain names present more like an identification, projects like Yat and kola are trying to rich this identity by various methods, and it is conceivable that the future identity domain will become very diverse and fun.

For users, it is the first time that the interaction records carried by the addresses can be sustainable. Users no longer have to give up their addresses and abandon their valuable records because of private key leakage or sharing.
Reasons to Recommend:
Although there is very little information, the concept of transferable addresses is very attractive and fun. If what is said can be achieved, it will be the top public enemy of SBT, NFT communities (WL system), and the anti-Sybil system. It would be very funny to see LOL.

Word block aims to explore a new experience between content and individuals by trying to build up a ‘Web3 literature system’.The creator can proof the text they generated by using wallet signature, and store text content whenever/wherever they see into word blocks for future reference use, where the reader could be directed to the original context by simply clicking on the referred word block.
The word block link will be bi-directional, which means it can bridge web2 context with web 3 id-ized content. When the web2 pages(URLs) content is abstracted from that context, it could have a parallel “identity(ID)“ enabled by web3 infrastructure. Later, we could do things like block mapping and text computation on IPFS(probably not on IPFS, but some middle layer for semantic computing), while the context is addressable on web 2.
EN: https://mirror.xyz/conaw.eth/hBj9GSkYzLpQM524VBVhjO8C5-KQFw9UmfrYkerlvZE
Reasons to Recommend:
WordBlock proposes an interesting attempt to value contents, by using methods similar to bookmarks, highlights and clips to make fragmented/paragraph content can be uploaded to the chain, and stored as a ‘word block’ structure for future reference and citation.
On the one hand, it allows The content can be divided into smaller units for value proof, and on the other hand, it also builds a bridge for the migration of web2 content to web3, essentially they are building a “literature library” on top of web3.
What’s more interesting is that by using the traces on-chain, it could also become part of the decentralize identity, which allows the DID have a richer present and more potential imagination.
